Under Siege 2011
I started playing drums at the age of 7 and continued onto learning guitar from the age of 11. During my time at Secondary school I played in a band with school mates, mostly performing Red Hot Chili Peppers covers. From there I began gaining live experience with this band, performing at local venues and larger outdoor events such as Under Siege at the Rochester Castle Summer Concerts. Alongside this, I played with function bands to widen my knowledge of styles and I attended local jam nights to gain experience of performing with different people. When I was 15 years old, I achieved Grade 8 Drums with Trinity Guildhall.
From 2012 to 2014, I completed a BMus Degree in Professional Music Performance at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford. During my time at ACM, I learnt from industry professionals including Frank Tontoh (Amy Winehouse, Craig David), Toby Drummond (Wicked, We Will Rock You) and Pete Riley. In 2013, I was a part of a world record attempt in which a team of drummers including Craig Blundell and Mike Dolbear drummed for 2 hour stints for a total of 70 hours straight. From studying at ACM, I have expanded my musical knowledge to now having a detailed understanding of music theory, songwriting and rearranging.
Royal Monster 2018
Since my time at ACM, I have become a full time professional musician involved in a number of musical projects and bands. I have worked on numerous recording sessions and gigged with a variety of acts, of which examples can be seen below. Highlights include performing across the UK with a Royal Blood tribute going by the name of Royal Monster - one show in Brighton in 2018 being a particular high point because Royal Blood came to watch. Also playing an impromptu song on drums with Marmozets in Portsmouth in 2017 was something I'll remember vividly for a long time.
Have a look at the live shows page for a list of upcoming gigs.
