Coming Soon - Drum Lesson Teaser

DSC_8769 - Copy.jpg

I teach in my purpose-built drum studio in Hempstead in Kent and offer professional one-to-one tuition for everyone age 7 and up and of all experience levels. My aim is for each individual to get the most enjoyment out of their tuition possible, so lessons are tailored to each person’s preferences. Whether you are new to drumming and need to learn the fundamentals, or you are experienced and wish to further an area of your technical or musical ability, I shape lessons to help you achieve your musical goals.

Practice outside of lesson time is essential, so I have created a Student Area of my website dedicated to helping my students. The Student Area is full of tutorial videos that coincide with sheet music for various songs and exercises, along with a database of songs to practice along with and videos on general drumming tips.

I also currently teach weekly one-to-one lessons at Rainham Mark Grammar School.

I am able to teach a variety of styles and techniques including:

 - Pop, Rock, Metal, Funk, Soul/Gospel, R&B/Hip-Hop, Country/Folk, Latin, Jazz

 - Moeller stick technique, double bass pedals, the main 40 rudiments

 - Musicianship, improvising and arranging drum parts

 - Playing to a metronome and with backing tracks

 - Sight Reading

 - Ear Training

 - Notation and Music Theory

 - Production skills

 - Live Performance and triggering sample pads/backing tracks

 - Drum setup, tuning and maintenance

Grades are an effective system of recognised progression and I encourage students to take Grades if they are looking to become well rounded and versatile musicians. I can help students prepare for Grades 1-8 certificated with Trinity Guildhall. Grades are an industry standard method of recognising musical ability and are often required for GCSE, A-level and Higher Education Music courses, so if you are looking for a career in music, taking Grades is a real asset.

I am fully DBS checked and teach age 7 and upwards. Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons.

Lessons are £18 per half hour or £32 per hour, which are paid by bank transfer on the day or in advance if you prefer. Any lessons cancelled without 24 hours notice will incur payment of the full lesson fee. If several consecutive lessons are cancelled or lesson payments are not made on time, your place as a student will be reconsidered.
